Hi there, I’m Anna. 👋🏽

Hi there, I’m Anna.

Four things I'd bring to a deserted island

Four things I'd bring to a deserted island

First off, it used to be three. But since having children, I've made peace with needing more. The four things that I would bring with me to a deserted island are my nutty family of 4, a fishing pole, a jumbo lighter, and a heavy duty knife. (I'm also smuggling in a pocket camera, a pencil and paper. They're small, and a life without snapping and doodling would drive me bonkers.)

Work history, speed-dating style

Work history, speed-dating style

After college, I started my career in data analysis and spent about a decade working at Fortune 500 companies. During that time, I learned a lot about technology, systems, and a simple reality: people don't always use products the way they're designed.

One thing led to another, and life eventually led me to UX design. These days, I spend my time untangling complex problems, asking lots of questions, and trying to make things easier for the people on the other side of the screen. I love it.

Different craft, same attention to detail

In 2009, with a little encouragement from friends and family, photography became more than a hobby. Since then, I've photographed weddings, political events, award ceremonies, and everything in between. The surprising part? Design and photography have a lot in common. Both require curiosity, empathy, and paying close attention to people. Both are about understanding what matters and making it easier to see. One just happens to involve more sticky notes, and the other more camera batteries.
